Add up time cards with unpaid breaks

Enter start and end times for each day you worked, along with unpaid break minutes. The calculator adds all net work minutes across the seven days and separates regular hours from hours beyond 40 for an illustrative US workweek.

Example: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day, totals 8 paid hours daily or 40 hours for the week. If you worked another five hours on Saturday, the weekly total would be 45 hours, including five hours beyond the 40-hour threshold.

A shift that starts at 10:00 PM and ends at 6:00 AM is interpreted as ending the next morning. This is a practical work-hours estimator, not an official timekeeping record or statement of applicable employment law. Some states require daily overtime; different workers may be exempt. Check your employer's policy and actual paystub.

Can I calculate a shift that crosses midnight?

Yes. An end time earlier than the start time is treated as the following day.

Does this calculate taxes?

No. Gross weekly pay is estimated before withholding; overtime uses a configurable multiplier after 40 weekly hours.

A practical guide: Time Card Calculator — Work Hours

Fill in start and end times for each day of the week and subtract unpaid break minutes. The calculator totals net work hours across all seven days, separating the first 40 from additional hours for an illustrative overtime estimate.

Example

Example: a Monday-to-Friday schedule of 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day adds up to 40 worked hours. A 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM shift is treated as crossing midnight.

Before using the result

This is not a certified timesheet. Weekly 40-hour overtime is an assumption: some US states use daily overtime rules, and certain employees may be exempt. Confirm records and payment rules with the employer.
